![]() After 14 successful years, Viola Camp is taking a rest. An abundance of appreciation is due here to the many violists from nearby and far away who contributed, in such a healthy variety of ways, to the success of this camp. We will enjoy the memories of beautiful noon-time recitals, refreshing masterclasses, energizing workshops, happy community playtimes, and some great camaraderie! There are rumours of a reunion . . . perhaps some ensemble reading, and then off to the hot-tub/croquet. Please check the website for future developments on this idea. Thanks also to the CVS for including Viola Camp in its website! From a few alumnae: ...majoring in Viola at McGill...Viola Camp played a special role in my musical development...six years of wonderful experiences and sense of Viola camaraderie. Carmen Moggach B.Mus ‘05 McGill I found myself immersed in an inspiring atmosphere, with days full of coaching, seminars and concerts...It really provided the boost I needed to get more involved in music...Stephanie Santosa B.Eng. ‘04 McGill Playing the viola was something I had learned to love throughout the week of rigorous musical instruction... viola camp was an indispensable component of my life as an amateur musician...Jane Ahn B.Hum. ‘05 Carleton Viola Camp is more than just a camp, it is truly a “Festival of the Viola,” contributing to the artistic culture of the community.
